Indian pipe band at the anniversary show
From July 15th to 23rd, the bagpipes will take over the scepter in the courtyard of the Basel barracks. This year we're going one better. For the first time in the history of Basel Tattoo we present you a bagpipe formation from India: the Kumudini Homes School Pipes and Drums Band. Let yourself be surprised by the mixture of Far Eastern tones, Scottish sounds and humorous interludes.
Bulgarian representative orchestra at the anniversary show
With the Guardsmen Representative Wind Orchestra From The National Guards Unit, Republic of Bulgaria another representative band takes part Basel Tattoo part. It complements a top-class field of participants from majestic formations such as the Kings Guard from Norway or the Welsh Guards from Great Britain - a band of the Queen. Their repertoire ranges from traditional marches and classical music to modern pieces. The obligation of this representation formation gives the Basel Tattoo and its anniversary program added brilliance.
Top Secret Drum Corps
The Top Secret Drum Corps has been touring the world for over 25 years. Their show always impresses countless visitors. They are at home in Basel and this is where they like to play best. Your new show is refreshing. To do this, they train a lot and polish every detail.
Swiss Army Central Band
They are the «national team» of Swiss brass bands. The Swiss Army Central Band, the representative orchestra of Swiss military music, presents itself in its red gala uniform and knows how to combine different styles of music, sophisticated show performances and humorous elements with one another.
Red Hot Chilli Pipers
After their successes in 2018 and 2019, the Scots will do so again this summer Basel Tattoo rock. They skilfully combine the folkloric bagpipe sounds with rock music. You call your style "bag rock". With their performance they will again cause a sensation and sweep the audience away.
Les Armaillis
The world of Les Armaillis am Basel Tattoo. “Le Ranz des vaches” also plays an important role here. This expression, which can be literally translated as "rows of cows," refers to a shepherd's song originally used to attract cows. The song shows a realistic overall picture of the primitive mountain life in French-speaking Switzerland
The Band of Her Majesty's Welsh Guards
The Band of the Welsh Guards was formed in 1915. She can be heard at state ceremonies and public appearances. Since April 2022, Major Lauren Petritz-Watts has been the first British Royal Guard under the musical direction of a woman. Under her leadership, the band will play a central role in the Queen's Jubilee celebrations.
His Majesty The King's Guard Band and Drill Team
The Royal Guard from Norway stands for absolute precision in marching. As the band's history progressed, so did their musical side. The Drill Team showcases their skills at the daily changing of the guard and at prestigious events around the world.
United States Air Force Honor Guard
The formation was formed in 1972 at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington DC. The drill team performs over 100 times a year at various events such as national sporting events or international tattoos.
Basel Tattoo Guard
As the only tattoo in the world that has Basel Tattoo about their own guard. It provides a worthy setting for the musical highlights from all over the world. The main task of the guard is to protect the visitors of the Basel Tattoo to greet at the entrances and to guard the gate.
Basel Tattoo Choir
The musical spectrum of Basel Tattoo Chorus extends beyond the military framework. So there has always been room for hits like "The Little Pub", "Ewigi Liebi" or "Weekend and Sunshine". The Basel Tattoo Choir has been with us for over 10 years.
Flings and Things Highland Dancers
The 50 graceful Highland dancers from Scotland inspire with wonderful choreographies and amazing dance steps. They also perform together with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers and create great emotions together.
Massed Pipes and Drums
The Massed Pipes and Drums are an international association of 200 bagpipe players and drummers. They come from all over the world and consist of the following formations:
